About me

My name is Monica Barbosa, and I am from Barcelos, Portugal. I hold a degree in Administrative Assistance and Translation from the Porto Accounting and Business School (ISCAP).

From an early age, I have been deeply drawn to the occult sciences, a passion that has evolved and blended with my professional background over the years. Since 2014, my main focus has been Astrology — beginning with Modern Western Astrology, later exploring Traditional Astrology, and ultimately dedicating myself to Traditional Vedic Astrology.

My Traditional Vedic journey began through my studies at Rama Academy under the guidance of Pandita Visti Larsen. I later joined the Parampara of Śrī Achyuta Dasa, a 500-year-old Vedic lineage founded by Śrī Achyutānanda Dasa, through the Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center.

I completed the Parāśara Jyotiṣa Course (PJC) Certification after five academic years of study with my Jyotiṣa Guru Pt. Sanjay Rath, under the mentorship of Pandita Branka Larsen and Pandita Željko Krgović, becoming one of the first — if not the first — Portuguese to complete this distinguished program. I also study the Mantra Śāstra Program (MSP) under the mentorship of Pandita Kartik Srinivasan.

I combine the wisdom of this ancient tradition with the knowledge and experience gained over the past decade. My purpose is to help others understand their birth charts and the planetary influences that shape their paths, using Vedic astrology as a tool for self-knowledge, balance, and spiritual growth.

Parampara

The Vedic Tradition

The designation Parampara is strongly associated with the spiritual relationship between the 'guru' (teacher, गुर) and 'śiṣya' (disciple, शिष्य), in which a 'guru' (teacher, गुर) imparts to his 'śiṣya' (disciple, शिष्य) teachings according to a particular ideological or spiritual tradition.

Parampara of Śrī Achyuta Das

The Parampara of Śrī Achyuta Dasa originates from Śrī Acchūytanānda Dasa (1510–?), a saint, poet, and disciple of Śrī Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Renowned for his prophetic insight and mastery of Yantra, Mantra, Tantra, Yoga, and Jyotiṣa, he united deep bhakti with wisdom drawn from the Vedas and Purāṇas.

His teachings were passed down through generations, reaching the Rath family of Puri, Odisha, in 1935. Today, Pandit Sanjay Rath, a direct descendant and founder of the Śrī Jagannath Center and the Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center, continues this sacred tradition. He shares Vedic knowledge worldwide through courses such as the Parāśara Jyotiṣa Course (PJC), Jaimini Sūtra Program (JSP), and Mantra Śāstra Program (MSP).

Under his guidance, teachers like Pt. Branka Larsen and Pt. Željko Krgović help preserve and spread the light of this ancient lineage.

With gratitude for being part of this Paramparā and for all who continue to share its sacred knowledge.
